Why aren't Mormons fat?

Levi's friend's Anthony and Sean came over to the house today during one of their breaks to eat some fresh oreos I whipped up. Sean has been over a lot to eat my cooking, and today he asked how Mormons can eat ALL THE TIME at every gathering and not all be insanely obese. (Sean is Catholic, btw)

I have no idea.

How do we all manage to stay relatively thin when we have a ton of gatherings where everything from jello molds to funeral potatoes to pot roasts to cobblers are served? I've been puzzling over this all day. Is it because we are always on the run with the big families? Is the stress of planning so many of the meetings just overwhelming enough to burn off the extra calories? Does God just love us more? (That last one was thought up by Sean. He thinks Mormons are loved more than the sinning Catholics....his words, not mine.)

Personally, I think it may be all of the above.

It's that silly word of wisdom of ours. no beer = no beer belly? maybe?
But i have heard that Utah is the healthiest state, they based the research on statistics like, how many people have gym memberships and actually use them and stuff like that. coincidence?

Actually a lot of Mormons are overweight and obese. Probably close to the same percentage as other faiths/religions. I believe other religions do have their share of pot lucks, refreshments, coffee and donuts, etc. I think young members of the church are more active and participate in other party activities rather than drinking which often causes weight gain.
